I run several businesses but my main focus is my business consultancy Rosie Consulting. Frank, my husband, and I share a period cottage in the country west of Shrewsbury which we have been slowly renovating since moving to the area in 2001. My office is a purpose timber frame office built by local craftsmen only steps from my home, the best commute you can have! Having lived all over England the nomadic lifestyle has enabled me to understand how different areas of the country function and appreciate both rural and urban lifestyles. Trained originally in business studies and business law but soon moving over to accountancy. Coming from an academic family (3 Professors in the immediate family alone!) my thirst for knowledge and continued learning has given me a rich array of qualifications but more importantly knowledge.
I have worked/run businesses in the arts, engineering, service, and hospitality, always in SME’s and always at the coal face by choice. Having run other peoples business, the last being for 5 ½ years as a Company Accountant in Manchester in 1990 I moved over to self employment and into business with my husband owning and running gastro pubs. I started the consultancy Rosie Consulting in 2002 after relocating to Shropshire in 2001, having sold our successful business in the South. During the ‘pub’ time despite being head chef I also managed to gain many computer and other qualification. In the mid 90’s I also started my work in International B2B Market Research.
